Terms of Service
Last updated: October 17, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and CurbCutz ("CurbCutz," "we," "us"). They cover your use of the CurbCutz app, the website curbcutz.com and our services (together, "CurbCutz"). By creating an account or using CurbCutz, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use CurbCutz.
1. What CurbCutz is
CurbCutz is a marketplace that connects people who need lawn care ("customers") with independent lawn care businesses ("pros"). CurbCutz provides the app, booking tools, payments (when turned on), proof-of-work checks and support. CurbCutz does not perform lawn care. Pros are independent businesses, not CurbCutz employees, agents or partners. Each pro is responsible for their own work, tools, crew, licenses, insurance and taxes. The agreement for each job is between the customer and the pro.
2. Who can use CurbCutz
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. You must give accurate information and keep it up to date. CurbCutz is launching in Mississippi and Louisiana and will expand to more areas. A business that uses CurbCutz must be represented by someone authorized to act for it.
3. Your account
- One person per account. Keep your password and two-step verification codes private. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- Two-step verification is required for every account.
- Tell us right away at support@curbcutz.com if you think someone else has used your account.
4. Booking lawn care (customers)
- Prices: pros set their own prices for each service by yard size. You'll see the price before you book. Some jobs, such as very large yards or special services, are priced by quote instead. You describe the job, the pro replies with a price, and you choose whether to accept it.
- Yard size: choose your yard size as accurately as you can. If the yard turns out to be a different size, the pro may ask to update it. You'll see any price change before it applies to future visits.
- Confirmations: a booking within a pro's open schedule may be confirmed automatically, or the pro may approve each booking. You'll be told either way.
- Repeat visits: for weekly, every-two-weeks or custom schedules, each visit is its own job, priced and reviewed separately.
- Access: you agree to give the pro safe access to the yard on the booked day. That means unlocked gates, pets inside, and a clear yard where needed.
- Cancellations: you can cancel a booking in the app. Any cancellation fee will be shown before you book, and none applies today. If weather forces a change, the job can be moved without a fee.
5. VIP 24-hour service
You can ask for VIP service, meaning the job is finished within 24 hours. VIP adds an up-charge based on the job's price before tip:
- up to $100: $25
- $100 to $250: $50
- $250 to $500: $100
- $500 to $1,000: $200
- over $1,000: 20%
The pro earns the up-charge only if the job is finished within 24 hours. Otherwise you aren't charged for it.
6. Payments, fees and tips
These payment terms apply once payments are turned on in your area.
- Processing: payments are processed by Stripe, and pros receive payouts through Stripe. By paying or getting paid through CurbCutz, you also agree to Stripe's terms. Your card statement shows "CurbCutz" with the pro's business name.
- Card holds: your card is held when you book (for repeat schedules, the day before each visit). The charge is made when you approve the finished job, or 24 hours after the pro submits it if you don't report a problem.
- Customer fees: customers don't pay a booking fee. You pay the pro's price, plus any VIP up-charge and tip you choose.
- Pro fees: CurbCutz keeps a 5% fee on the amount actually paid for each job, including any VIP up-charge. Pros also pay their own card processing fees. There's no CurbCutz fee on tips.
- Tips: tips are optional. You choose the tip when you approve a job, and 100% of it goes to your pro (card processing still applies).
- Taxes: pros are responsible for their own taxes. Stripe may issue tax forms (such as Form 1099-K) to pros who meet the legal thresholds.
- Payments stay on CurbCutz: pros agree not to ask customers they met through CurbCutz to pay outside CurbCutz for services booked through CurbCutz.
7. Proof of work and the 24-hour review
- Pros: when you start and finish a job, take before and after photos with the CurbCutz in-app camera at the yard. The app records each photo's time and location. Faking photos, reusing photos or faking your location is a serious violation of these terms.
- Customers: after a pro submits a finished job, you have 24 hours to review it. You can approve it (and tip), or report a problem. If you do nothing, the job is approved automatically when the 24 hours end, as long as it passed our proof checks.
8. Problems, touch-ups and refunds
Our goal is to fix the job first, split fairly second, and refund in full only when the work wasn't done.
- Report it: report a problem within the 24-hour review window. Choose what's wrong (missed area, quality, not done, or damage) and add photos taken at the property with the in-app camera.
- The pro responds: the pro can offer a free touch-up, usually within 2 days. They can also offer a partial credit or explain with evidence.
- Fixed or agreed: a finished touch-up with new verified photos means the pro is paid in full. An accepted credit means you pay the reduced amount.
- No agreement: if there's no agreement within the time shown in the app, CurbCutz Support reviews the evidence. That includes photos, location records and history. Support decides any credit or refund, and that decision settles the job.
CurbCutz may limit automatic refunds; today, more than 2 refunds per customer in 90 days need a Support review. Making false claims, or using a card chargeback instead of this process, may lead to account review.
Damage: report property damage the same way. Damage claims are between the customer and the pro (and the pro's insurer). CurbCutz isn't an insurer and doesn't pay damage claims, but Support can help both sides share information.
9. Pros: joining and staying on CurbCutz
- Approval: pros must be approved before they appear to customers. We may ask for your business details, insurance, licenses and identity or payout setup. We may approve, ask for more information, or decline.
- Accuracy: your profile, services, prices and insurance details must be true and current. The "Insured" badge appears only after we review your certificate, and comes off if your policy lapses.
- Licenses and law: you must follow the laws that apply to your work. For example, you need a state pesticide applicator license where your state requires one for weed control.
- Your business: you decide which jobs to accept, your prices, your schedule and how you do the work, within these terms.
- Planner and routes: route and drive-time suggestions are estimates. Always drive safely and follow traffic laws.
10. Ratings and reviews
Customers rate pros, and pros rate customers. Reviews must be honest, about a real job and free of personal attacks, private information or offensive content. Don't offer or accept anything in exchange for a review. We may remove reviews that break these rules. Customers' reviews show their first name and last initial. Pros' ratings of customers are shown only as an average.
11. Rules for everyone
Don't:
- break the law, harass or threaten anyone, or discriminate against anyone;
- give false information, impersonate someone or open accounts for others without permission;
- fake photos, locations, reviews or claims;
- interfere with CurbCutz, get around its security, or collect data from it by automated means;
- copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows;
- use CurbCutz to send spam or advertising.
12. Suspension and closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts people at risk, or is involved in fraud. We'll tell you why unless we're legally unable to. You can close your account at any time (see Delete your account). Jobs already completed, payments owed, and records we must keep stay in place after an account closes.
13. Our content and your content
CurbCutz, its name, logo, app and website belong to CurbCutz. You keep ownership of the photos, reviews and other content you add. You give CurbCutz permission to use that content to run, show and improve CurbCutz and to resolve disputes. For example, we show job photos to the customer and Support, and reviews on pro profiles. This permission ends when the content is deleted, except where we must keep records.
14. Disclaimers
CurbCutz is provided "as is." We work to keep it accurate and available, but we don't promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. We review pros before they join, but we don't guarantee any pro's work, conduct or insurance beyond the problem process in section 8. Drive times, yard sizes and estimates are approximate.
15. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, CurbCutz isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages. Nor is it liable for lost profits or for damage caused by a pro's or customer's actions. Our total liability for any claim about CurbCutz is limited to the greater of the fees you paid CurbCutz in the 12 months before the claim, or $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
16. Indemnity
If you break these terms or the law, or a claim arises from work you did or a job you booked, you agree to cover CurbCutz's reasonable costs, including legal fees, of any resulting claim against CurbCutz.
17. Disagreements with CurbCutz
If you have a disagreement with CurbCutz, email support@curbcutz.com first. We'll try to resolve it informally within 30 days. These terms are governed by Mississippi law. Any court case about CurbCutz will be brought in the state or federal courts serving Harrison County, Mississippi, unless the law requires otherwise.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as CurbCutz grows. For important changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using CurbCutz after that, you accept the new terms.
